Author Guidelines
UKJNRES publishes authentic scientific research, review articles and essays in the field of natural resources and environmental studies, provided that they are not published elsewhere. In case, the manuscript has been submitted to other journal but withdrawn, author(s) should verify by submitting the withdrawal evidence to UKJNRES. Papers presented for publication will be subjected to evaluation by referees/reviewers in the relevant fields. Authors are asked to identify and to submit contact details for three potential reviewers of their manuscript(s). Soft copy articles are accepted for publication in English language with an additional abstract in Arabic if applicable. The manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman font size 14, spacing 1.5 and 2.5 cm margins in all sides. The first page of the manuscript begins with title, which should be brief, followed by the name of the author(s) and their full affiliation in addition to the e-mail address of the corresponding author.
The submitted manuscripts should be organized in the following order (Abstract + IMRAD Format + References).
Abstract: The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the methods, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Abstract should be 100 to 250 words in length. Complete sentences, active verbs, and the third person should be used, and be written in the past tense. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited. Following the abstract, about 3 to 5 italicized keywords should be provided.
Introduction: The Introduction should provide a clear statement of the problem, the relevant literature on the subject, and the proposed approach or solution. It should be understandable to colleagues from a variety of scientific disciplines.
Materials and Methods: Materials and methods should be complete enough to allow for reproduction and modification. However, only truly new procedures should be described in details; previously published procedures should be cited, and important modifications of published procedures should be mentioned briefly. Capitalize trade names, italicized local or vernacular names and include the manufacturer's name and address. Subheadings should be used. Methods in general use need not be described in detail.
Results and Discussion: In results representative data should be presented with clarity and precision. The results should be written in the past tense when describing findings and explained without referring to the literature. Speculation, attribution and interpretation of data should not be included in the results and rather be put in the Discussion section. The Discussion should interpret the findings in view of the obtained results and in light of the past
findings on this topic. Clearly state the conclusions in few sentences at the end of this
section. The Results and Discussion sections can include subheadings, and when appropriate,
both sections can be combined. Acknowledgement: if necessary, the scientific contribution should be briefly acknowledged
before other contributions.
References: References should arrange alphabetically with authors’ surnames first, followed
by year of publication, title, name of the journal, volume number and issue as well as the
beginning and ending pages of the article. In case of books, author(s) followed by year of
publication, title, publisher and number of pages and ISBN are to be provided. In all cases,
author(s) should follow APA style (http://www.apa.org/) to cite their references.
Tables and illustrations (figures and plates): Tables, figures, and plates should be prepared
on separate pages with their corresponding numbers in the text and respective titles. Please
indicate the title above the table and beneath the illustrations.
Failure to follow author guidelines may delay publication of the manuscript(s).
Author(s) must avoid plagiarisms (including self-plagiarism) from other work without
attribution. Failure to avoid plagiarisms will lead to the rejection of the manuscript. It is
unethical for an author to publish manuscripts describing basically the same research in more
than one peer-reviewed paper. It is also unethical for the corresponding author to submit
manuscript without all co-authors having seen the final version of the article or without their
agreement. Only individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the
published research could be listed as co-authors.
