الملخص
Seven genotypes of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), namely: Asareca-T1, Asareca-W2, Arfa gadamak-8, Wad Ahmed, Taggat19, Botana and Alwafir were evaluated under rain water harvesting (microcatchment and tilled natural land) at Jabal Kordofan (Gardud soils), Elobeid Agricultural Research Station, North Kordofan State, Sudan, during season (2016/17). A split plot design with four replications was used. The main plots were allocated for water treatments and the sub plots for genotypes. Growth and yield attributes were measured. Grain yield g plant-1 had highly significant positive correlations with number of grains per panicle and harvest index. Number of grains/panicle had a highly significant positive correlation with harvest index. Path analysis revealed that the highest positive direct effects on grain yield/plant were exerted by number of grains/panicle and 1000-grain weight. Generally, the highest indirect effects were exerted through number of grains/plant. It could be concluded that there were positive and high effect of number of grains/head, 1000-grain weight and harvest index under micro catchment and tilled natural land on grain yield/plant, thus, these components can be used as criteria in selecting for the improvement of grain yield.
