Publication Guidelines

The Kordofan Journal of Educational and Human Sciences is a peer-reviewed, semiannual scientific journal published periodically online by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, University of Kordofan. The journal is concerned with publishing original scientific research characterized by novelty and innovation across the various fields of educational and human sciences, provided that such research adheres to internationally recognized scientific research methods and procedures.

The journal adopts the general objective of disseminating knowledge and contributing to the development and enrichment of educational and human sciences in ways that support the advancement of educational and teaching practices in particular, and human development in general, through the publication of theoretical and applied research in the various fields of educational and human sciences, with emphasis on quality and relevance to present and future realities.

Publication Rules

The opinions and ideas published in the journal represent the views of their respective authors.

A supplement may be issued with some editions of the journal containing high-quality intellectual topics, provided that all publication requirements are met.

Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript must be consistent with the journal’s vision and objectives.

  • The journal publishes original scientific research in the fields of educational and human sciences that has not been previously published, follows internationally recognized scientific research methodology and procedures, and is written in either Arabic or English.

  • The journal may publish specialized critical reviews of scientific publications, book reviews, discussion papers, reports of specialized seminars and conferences, as well as abstracts of university theses and dissertations.

  • The research must make a clear contribution to its subject area, and the methodology, style, and presentation must be appropriate to the nature of the work.

  • The research topic should demonstrate quality, novelty, relevance, and innovation.

  • Documentation and referencing must be accurate and consistent with scientific research methodology.

  • The language must be correct and appropriate, with particular attention to the conventions of academic and research writing.

The manuscript should be prepared according to one of the following two formats:

Field or Laboratory Research

The researcher should provide an introduction explaining the research topic, its nature, objectives, significance, background, and the need for the study. The research problem and hypotheses should then be clearly formulated on the basis of a sound scientific background and relevant concepts in the field of specialization.

A separate section should be devoted to research methodology, including the study population, sample, and research instruments. This should be followed by a section on statistical analysis, where applicable, then the results and their discussion. The manuscript should conclude with the sources and references.

Theoretical Research

The researcher should begin with an introduction defining the research problem and explaining the need to address it. The main body should then be divided into relatively independent sections, each presenting a distinct idea within the overall topic. The paper should conclude with a summary, followed by the sources and references.

Authors must use headings, footnotes, symbols, and other academic conventions in accordance with generally accepted Arabic and international standards.

Materials to Be Submitted with the Manuscript

The journal accepts research papers in all fields of educational and human sciences, including both full-length and short research papers.

An abstract must be provided in both Arabic and English. The abstract should be concise and include the following elements: background or introduction, significance and objective, methodology, major findings, and a recommendation. It should not exceed 250 words and should be followed by 5–7 keywords.

A written declaration must be submitted confirming that the manuscript has not been previously published and undertaking not to submit it to another publisher unless prior approval has been obtained from the Editorial Board.

The manuscript must be submitted electronically through the journal’s email address in a Microsoft Word file. Headings should be written in 16-point font and the main text in 14-point font, with 1 cm line spacing as specified by the journal. Margins should be 2.5 cm on the right, left, top, and bottom.

For English manuscripts, Times New Roman should be used, while Simplified Arabic should be used for Arabic manuscripts.

Documentation should be made by referring to sources and references at the end of the manuscript according to accepted academic referencing procedures. In-text citations should follow the author–date system, with the author’s name and year placed in parentheses. References should be arranged alphabetically under the heading “Sources and References.”

The manuscript should not exceed 30 pages.

Paragraphing and punctuation should be used correctly in both Arabic and English manuscripts.

The journal is not obligated to return manuscripts that are unsuitable for publication. However, it is required to inform authors of the reasons preventing publication. Once an author is notified that the manuscript cannot be published in the journal, the author has the right to submit or use the work elsewhere.

The researcher bears full responsibility for the accuracy and correctness of all quoted and reproduced material. The Editorial Board is not responsible for any form of scientific plagiarism.

The Editorial Board has the right to conduct an initial screening of submitted manuscripts and determine whether they are suitable for peer review or should be rejected. If the manuscript is accepted for review, the author may initially be informed verbally until the publication procedures are completed through an official written letter. The manuscript will then be placed on the journal’s publication priority list.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to peer review. Final acceptance is granted only after all amendments and corrections requested by the reviewers have been completed. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make any changes it considers necessary for purposes of wording, editing, or linguistic revision.

Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, its publication rights are transferred to the journal, and it may not be published in any other form without written permission from the General Supervisor.
