Trends of Innovation in English Language Teaching in Sudan in the Twentieth Century

الملخص

This study aims to recognize the dimensions of trends of innovation and development in teaching English language in Sudan in the twentieth century. There were clear evidence for teaching English Language during the 1960s and 1970s using the normal structural approach of building structures. This witnesses various problems in gaining knowledge. Then later on there was a clearer progress towards obtaining knowledge through the communicative approach with its emphasis on learner activities and performance of specific tasks that led to the clearance of syllabus objectives and its implementation. Then recognizing the importance of the interpersonal aspects of language learning and teaching and the use of language in social contexts. In this sense relevant notional syllabuses were used in ELT because, they take the desired adequate communicative capacity of language teaching.

ملامح التجديد في تدريس اللغة الانجليزية في السودان في القرن العشرين

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة إتجاهات التجديد والتطور التي إتبعتها عملية تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية في السودان في القرن العشرين هنالك اتجاهات واضحة في ملامح التجديد لتدريس اللغة الانجليزية. ففي ستينات وسبعينات القرن العشرين اتخذت الطريقة التقليدية ممثلة في المنهاج الانشائي التكويني للغة الانجليزية. وقد تبع ذلك اخفاقات كثيرة في التحصيل وطرائقه من جانب والمعلم وتأهيله من جانب اخر. وبالرغم من ذلك كان المنهاج الانشائي يحمل مضامين التجديد مما نتج عنه استخدام الطريقة الكلامية الصريحة للمعرفة ونقل المعلومات. ولما كان اهتمام المعلم بتدريس اللغة الانجليزية من خلال قواعدها، اصبحت الاهداف هي الاساس عند تدريسها بغرض المعرفة وذلك من خلال الافكار والاساليب المختلفة الخاصة بها. وعليه،فقد تطورت اساليب التجديد الحديثة في تدريس اللغة الانجليزية بمنهاج صريح واضح حيث ظهرت المناهج الخاصة بذلك اهمها الذي يستخدم العقل في نقل المعرفة .
